In my work I am exploring biblical and kabbalistic teachings through a midrashic framework which allows one to zoom into or explode out a single word, read in between lines of text, free associate, and bring ancient writing into the immediate present. Animals perform manifold functions in the paintings; monkeys are pre-expulsion from Eden humans, cats and people undergo spiritual metamorphosis on a journey to talk to God, and whale's digestive tract breaks down and reconstructs language itself.
